Courses 5303 & 5305
Eportfolio 5303: 87/100
Disruptive Innovation 5305: 44/50
Reflecting on my learning and contributions to my learning community in EDLD 5303 and EDLD 5305, I acknowledge that I have met the key and supporting donations; however, I remain in a growth mindset and realize that I still need to grow and improve in certain areas. For this reason, I give myself an 87 out of 100 for EDLD 5303 and 44 out of 50 for EDLD 5305.
I worked well with my classmates and encouraged discussion on the discussion boards and in weekly virtual meetings. I contributed in a valuable way to every breakout session at 5303 and 5305. I also helped build and provided feedback and progress to my core collaborative group. Working with Angelica and Doyna, I could share resources, homework tips, and feedback while also having a group of people to turn to when I had questions or sought input.
I accepted and welcomed feedback and reviews of all course assignments from my instructors and peers and incorporated this feedback into my assignments in all cases. While most of the necessary revisions in my case were minor, I consider this a personal improvement because I used to be very fixed-minded when getting feedback; I often felt "attacked" when someone tried to correct my work. Taking 5303 and 5305 and recognizing that criticism is a fixed mindset trigger for me allowed me to rethink how I approach feedback and review, which, as a result, allowed me to apply this new mindset in both classes. If I had only taken 5303 or 5305, I wouldn't have been as open to revisions and wouldn't have considered my comments "important" enough to correct them. The 5303 & 5305 courses helped me realize that feedback is essential for learning, so I reset my mindset about feedback and became a more successful student and learner. My corrected and revised assignments for 5303 and 5305 are in my e-portfolio.
I actively engaged with all required course readings and videos, ensuring I was fully prepared for all live classes and breakout sessions. My commitment to active participation was a critical factor in my learning and contributions to the course.
Here are some areas that I would like to improve:
I would like to learn more about the APA format to enhance my writing and communication ability.
I want to manage my time wisely to be on top of tasks and activities.
Set small goals to accomplish larger goals.
Communicate more with the instructor in case I have questions or concerns.
