What's My Why
Why - We believe that instilling in children the ability to write empowers them to articulate themselves clearly, analyze situations objectively, and communicate effectively within their community and the world at large.

How—To do this, we create a significant blended-learning environment, set up a creative digital-writing rotating station for writing authentic digital journals, and give our young writers choice, ownership, and voice through an authentic learning opportunities (COVA) approach.
What - We prepare effective communicators who confidently interact and connect with others in this digital age by expressing their ideas in writing while empowering their own voices.

Reflection
In the era of rapid digital advancements, the ability to communicate effectively through writing has become a fundamental skill for daily human interaction. In this context, our proposal to teach writing to children is not just about the present but about preparing them for a future where effective written communication is necessary. As a whole, most members of this modern society need to communicate in writing daily, utilizing all current technological innovations, which allows them to connect and interact with other individuals in an expeditious, almost instantaneous way. Therefore, teaching our young scholars to improve their writing skills will empower them to articulate themselves clearly, analyze situations objectively, and communicate effectively within their community and the world at large while providing them with the tools to be successful.

To carry out this task, it is essential to create a significant blended-learning environment ( Horn & Staker, 2017) and set up a creative digital-writing rotating station for writing authentic digital journals while giving our young writers choice, ownership, and voice through authentic learning opportunities (COVA) (Harapnuik, Thibodeaux, & Cummings, 2018).

A digital writing rotating station can enhance our elementary scholars’ ability to generate genuine journal samples, inspiring them to explore their sense of innovation. Our young language learners will experience the creative writing process more engagingly so they can customize their points of view and reflect on what they have learned, taking advantage of the opportunity to present different ways of expressing their thoughts more vividly through online technology.
Implementing a Blended Learning environment ( Horn & Staker, 2017) alongside the COVA approach (Harapnuik, Thibodeaux, & Cummings, 2018) will ensure we prepare effective communicators who confidently interact and connect with others in this digital age by expressing their ideas in writing. Most importantly, our young scholars will share their learning experiences with their parents, peers, and school community.
