The Benefit of Networking

Indicate which professional learning networks you joined.

Honestly, I have not joined any learning networks recently. I was part of Linkedln for some time, but I have been inactive for now. However, during the school year, I can participate in different conferences, online courses, and training the school district provides. I can interact with other teachers and exchange resources, ideas, and experiences.

Reflect on your experience as a learning community member (ies).

Being part of a professional learning network is essential because I can keep growing as a professional, share ideas and resources, stay updated with best practices in education, collaborate on projects, learn new skills, etc. I also like participating in staff development through workshops, conferences, and seminars.

What are you consuming, and what are you contributing?

Participating in different professional development programs allows me to learn the best practices I can apply in the classroom, learn from other teachers with more experience, and gain new abilities. At the same time, I contribute my own experience, ideas, and resources.

Elaborate about your current status of collaboration and engagement in your chosen field.

Participating in professional development has allowed me to reflect on my teaching methods and improve my practice while exploring new techniques and strategies that have helped me be more effective in my classroom. It has also helped me better understand my student's needs and the best way to help them succeed.

Are you preparing your receiver for feedback or feedforward?

By providing a safe environment in my kindergarten classroom, I am instilling the idea of working to learn something even if we make mistakes. In this way, I am trying to provide feedforward so we can identify and share the positive things observed and provide pathways for improvement and growth. By providing these opportunities in the classroom, I keep in mind the growth mindset for my students and me.
