Action Research Design Outline
According to Mertler (2020), action research is a reflective process that enhances educational practices through systematic investigation. It encourages educators to engage in collaborative and continuous improvement efforts, ultimately fostering more effective teaching methods and a higher quality learning experience. I appreciate how action research promotes transparency and integrity, as it requires educators to honestly assess and refine their practices—failing to do so only hinders one’s growth and understanding. This approach serves as both self-evaluation and a means to enrich the educational environment for all involved.
My action research will focus on understanding how preschool children can effectively learn English as a second language. This investigation will provide foundational support for my innovation plan, helping me design strategies that enhance language acquisition in young learners. I invite you to review my Outline Assignment, which details my approach to this project and its intended impact on early language education.
