Self Reflection

During these two subjects, I learned how important it is to plan a significant learning environment, not only for students but also for myself as a learning facilitator and as a lifelong learner. I discovered that learning is not just a process, but an exciting journey, and those who are willing to seek, share, explore, and promote new innovative ways to make the learning experience real for many are the ones who keep the learning process engaging and dynamic.

Teachers end up learning more. Perhaps teaching requires you to engage actively with the material. Or it could be because interacting with students or peers provides immediate feedback and different perspectives, prompting you to reconsider and refine your knowledge. This was more evident when planning for  Professional Learning with Dr. Harapnuik.

In creating Significant Learning Environments with Dr. Grogan, I also discovered that my approach to learning is more constructivist and that exercising the Growth Mindset Philosophy enables educators and learners to push their boundaries to become active learners.

My team has been a fundamental rock for me to continue through this master's program. Angelica and Desiree have enthusiastically supported me in our study gathering sessions. Their contributions were invaluable, with Desiree’s experience at PL being particularly beneficial to the group. Angelica's active participation in the Blackboard conversations and Ms. Johnston's thorough Internet research and knowledge about the subject were also crucial to our success.

Each group member took on a leadership role, contributing their unique experience and talents to ensure the completion of our tasks.

TEAM MEMBERS:

AREAS TO IMPROVE AND EVIDENCE:

  • I would like to cultivate an active Growth Mindset to continue with this ADL Master's and in my professional practice.

  • I must enhance my time management skills to discern between urgent and vital jobs. I also want to effectively prioritize tasks so that I can complete all of my work.

  • I need to be more practical and not overthink things because sometimes it delays me.

  • I must keep reading ahead of the themes discussed in the upcoming sessions.

Thank you
