It has been a privilege and a remarkable opportunity to pursue a master's degree at Lamar University, an American university. I enrolled in this program to enhance my teaching skills by integrating them with contemporary technology and the evolving educational culture.

Throughout this degree program, I faced significant challenges that required my utmost effort and determination to overcome, including enrolling in a study discipline at a senior age. One of the most beneficial concepts in my pursuit was maintaining a positive growth mindset. While it's easy to say that growth involves stepping outside our comfort zone, the daily practice of this mindset presents a much greater challenge. As they say, better said than done.

The constructivist approach to learning in this study program has helped me practice my writing composition more in each project, enhancing my communication skills. The first challenge began with presenting a disruptive proposal to address an issue and improve my students' academic performance.

This is how Digital Writing Journals emerged. Each subject gradually prepared us to undertake the next project, which would develop into implementing our initial proposal in actual professional practice. As a result, we now see the planning of professional learning to implement our disruptive proposal. In this study program, students learn by doing, solving, and implementing the  COVA Approach (Harapnuik et al., 2018), a very innovative way of promoting learning.

The last two subjects inspired us to create the online course for our innovative proposal. Instructional Design Online Learning provided guidance for planning our course according to the COVA guidelines. Synthesis Digital Learning Capstone took us on a reflective journey to understand the reasons for and purpose behind implementing our proposal.

Collaboration is one of the most essential success factors. I offer my most sincere thanks to my team members. Angelica Padron and Desiree Lopez's participation helped me complete this goal. Thank you, both of you.

I look forward to continuing to participate with you in future endeavors.

Team Members:

To all my learning facilitators who helped us shift our mindset in education toward a learning-by-doing philosophy, I offer my sincerest thanks. We will confidently face real-life situations, applying what you have taught us through your example. Thank you all.

Sincerely, Doyna Johnston
