Connecting and Communicating My Innovation Plan

Greetings, readers I invite you to watch my video, in which I explain why it is important to teach writing to children interestingly and creatively.

The most important reason why I thought about presenting this innovative proposal to my school administrators is that there is a need to teach the art of writing more creatively and engagingly to young learners. Creating a digital journal would be a big part of my students' learning process. This digital journal will be a compilation album of all their writing samples throughout the school year. A digital journal, when utilized properly, can help our elementary students become more accomplished writers, fostering their creativity and critical thinking. A digital journal can boost our young scholars’ capacity to produce authentic writing samples from different genres. The Active learning method that will be implemented is through the approach of the blended learning station rotation model (Horn & Staker, 2017) and the COVA (choice, ownership, voice, through authentic learning) learning theory (Harapnuik, Thibodeaux, &Cummings, 2018).

To execute this project, a suggested implementation outline has been developed. It points out the progressive stages of the writing process, including brainstorming, drafting, revising, and editing. It aligns them with the estimated timing for developing the writing samples according to the genre. The outline aims to present our audience with a course of action on implementing a digital journal writing station rotation within a blended learning environment for the Language Art Class (Horn & Staker, 2017).

A literature review is included to establish the effectiveness of the blended station rotation model, the COVA learning theory, and their impact on the success of hybrid online learning. This literature review examines the benefits of blended learning in elementary school, boosting student achievement through purpose, engagement, and personalization. This literature review also explores the transformative benefits of creating significant learning environments to elaborate digital writing journals, encouraging students to keep writing and sharing their thoughts and findings with the whole spectrum of their school community. It is the foundational framework and justification of our research.

Suppose you would like to continue exploring and getting familiar with the concepts of blended learning (Horn & Staker, 2017) and the COVA ( choice, ownership, voice through authentic learning) learning theory (Harapnuik, Thibodeaux, &Cummings, 2018). In that case, I invite you to review my annotated bibliography, where you can find literature rewarding these two transformative learning theories.
